The Brigitte Hamann Prize was established by the Austrian Private Universities Conference ÖPUK 2025 and honors graduates and students from and at private universities in Austria in the following categories
One winner will be honored in each category and will be awarded €5,000.
The application period for the Brigitte Hamann Prize of the ÖPUK runs from September to January of the following year. Submissions must be made in writing by email to office@oepuk.ac.at for the attention of the General Secretariat. Documents to be submitted include degree certificates or confirmation of studies for ongoing studies, proof of establishment, lists of publications, other prizes and awards, as well as any documents that document the achievement of the application requirements.
All submissions will be reviewed by a jury of experts in the respective field and members of the ÖPUK, and the winners will be determined by a majority vote of the jury. Applications are open until 20. January 2026.
